After 13 years of working in the industry with nothing official to show for it, I finally decided it was time to enrol into an interior design course. After doing my research, I contacted The Interior Design Academy to begin my journey.
Being a single mum of two, working full time and starting this course, I was beginning to think “what am I getting myself into”, but as I started my first tutorial, I found it quite easy to do and study at my own pace.
The Professional Interior Design Course was very informative, a lot of research notes and resources for you to learn from and great tips from leading interior design experts. The assignments weren’t easy but once I’d completed one, I found myself pushing myself for the next assignment. I learnt some great tips out of undertaking these assignments.
My tutor, Lisa Hallett, is a well-respected member of the interior design industry and I had the pleasure working with her in my past. She has a vast knowledge of the interior design world and took the time to explain my assignments with honesty and guidance when I needed assistance.
The modules covered most of what I wanted to get out of my studies and if anything, even being in this industry for 13 years, I still learnt a thing or two. I would highly recommend this course, whether you’re just starting out or have been in the industry for years. You never stop learning.
I now own my interior design business called Solz by Design and I was recently been commissioned to take on my first paid styling and new marketing campaign with a leading Australian owned tapware company called Linsol tapware. Now I see my work in their national marketing for their branding in Harvey Norman retails stores & BIGA+ nationwide.
Without having completed this course, I wouldn’t have been taken seriously even with all my years of experience.
I have The Interior Design Academy to thank for giving me the courage and confidence to pursue my passion and for giving me the opportunity to live my dreams.
