From a very young age I was continually styling my bedroom or rearranging furniture and accessories around the house. Later, I began applying my style to the properties my husband and I bought, renovated and sold.

As my passion and flair for design grew, many of my friends would often ask me for advice and assistance with their renovation. I loved the challenges. To aspire and create an aesthetic look which reflected their personality and lifestyle was inspirational and satisfying.

After much encouragement from family and friends, and a need to support a child after becoming a widow, I decided to go ahead with the Professional Interior Design Course offered by the Interior Design Academy.

The fact that this interior design course was delivered via correspondence and the assignments could be completed within my own time frame, was fantastic. I would attain a qualification in interior design!

This interior design course has given me greater confidence and professionalism and this is reflected in my improved dealings with clients. The comprehensive notes in the tutorials and the guidance from my tutor enabled me to present my work at the high standard expected from a graduate of the Academy.

The research process involved with the assignments was extensive and resulted in several of my case studies becoming commissioned projects. Further to this, this interior design course allowed me to venture into areas I had not considered previously such as property styling and sustainability designs. This has provided an opportunity to expand my business services.

The Interior Design Academy has helped me create a business out of a hobby, which is now not just my passion but my business too.
