I had previously worked in the field of interior design, owning a soft furnishing business for over eight years before completing The Professional Interior Design Course. I wanted to study to further myself in my business and to be able to confidently call myself an interior designer.
At the time of my enrolment, I lived in a rural area, had four children at home and was extremely busy. I researched what courses were available and decided distance learning was the best choice for me at the time. During the course and through the enrolment process, I truly felt supported by The Interior Design Academy. The staff were so helpful with assignments, feedback and any questions that I had.
Since completing the course, I specialise in paint finishes by Porters Paints and teach classes on how to use these products to transform furniture and make it look super old and French. This is just one element of my role.
My passion lies in helping people transforming their homes. Time and time again I have referred to my course assignments and tutorials to help me in my business – especially in terms of engagement and how to charge a client.
I find that I use the computer a lot more now to put electronic moodboards together instead of physical ones as I would have used previously. I find that I am much more confident in communicating with clients electronically which, in today’s world, is the preferred method. I love being able to involve my clients in every step of the process.
My time studying with The Interior Design Academy has been invaluable and would recommend this course as a positive step forward to anybody interested in interior design.
