I have a deep love for real estate and architecture and when I signed up for The Professional Interior Design Course, I had no idea exactly how much I would learn. I enjoyed learning about the history of our most treasured buildings and it almost became an obsession. I learnt about colour and how to put it together properly in a room and how important the correct lighting is. I learnt how to use a colour wheel and how to complement colours using accents, shades and tints.
When I decided to take on an online course, I was going through a difficult time in my life. What gave me the courage to go on with this course was the support and encouragement my father gave to me before he passed away. I never lost focus to complete the course even though I had to take some months off to grieve. I found I could pick up where I left off with absolutely no pressure from the Academy who allows you up to two years to complete the course. The support that the staff gave was 100%, always with emails and/or questions I had, even if my questions were simple, they treated me with the highest respect.
Learning is self-paced and the tutorials were engaging and interesting and well structured. I have also become much more computer savvy along the way which is helpful in many areas of my life. I learnt to draw spaces free hand as well, which I found fascinating to see my room come to life in a drawing.
The amount of information alone in each tutorial is a testament to the course and the success it can derive for participants. I felt immensely proud to complete my course knowing that I did the work myself. To achieve this was awesome and will assist me to freely choose the jobs I want to do for the coming years. For a small outlay, you can work from home. I am still in the process of setting up my business, Australian Interiors and Design Consultancy (something I had previously dreamed of) and have found the course absolutely invaluable.
I would thoroughly recommend The Professional Interior Design Course to anyone wanting to extend themselves. It does not matter what age you are, you can do this course because the help and support are always at hand. If I can do it, anyone can.
