My name is Natasha and I am 46yrs old. I have been a stay-at-home mother of 5 children for 24 years. During this time, I ran my own small business, ‘A Night to Remember’ which entailed decorating romantic settings for couples. I also themed Graduation and Fundraising Dinners. I have always had a passion for decorating, so when our family dynamics changed, I could pursue this in my own career. I decided to follow my passion and enrolled in The Professional Design Course with The Interior Design Academy.
Towards the end of my course, I noticed my local heritage hotel, The Rising Sun, had started renovating. So I had a bright idea to offer my services as a student to the owners to gain experience and test out my own skills. They were happy to offer me the opportunity. I used the tools I had learned so far during the course and presented them with a sample board of my inspiration ideas. I used our beautiful country surroundings to inspire my colour scheme.
To my greatest surprise, when The Rising Sun opened its doors again after her amazing makeover, I walked in, and it was like my sample board had been brought to life! I have gained a huge amount of confidence, and I’m so glad I stepped out and took a chance with the Academy. It is the most rewarding feeling to see your ideas come to life.
I’m looking forward to starting a career as an interior designer and really look forward to future projects!
